Parliament Question: Status of Implementation of PM MITRA Mega Textile Park in Warangal

KADIYAM KAVYA: Will the Minister of TEXTILES वस्त्र मंत्री be pleased to state : (a) the details of implementation of the PM MITRA Mega Textile Park in Warangal district, including progress made in land acquisition, development of trunk infrastructure, investment commitments received and the expected timeline for commissioning; and (b) the details of estimated employment likely to be generated through the project, including opportunities for local youth, Scheduled Castes, women and other sections of the local population? उत्तर ANSWER वस्त्र राज् य मंत्री (श्री पबित्र मार्घरे रटा) THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR TEXTILES (SHRI PABITRA MARGHERITA) (a) & (b): To develop integrated large scale and modern industrial infrastructure facility for entire value-chain of the textile industry, the Government has approved setting up of 7 (Seven) PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks in Greenfield/Brownfield sites with scheme outlay of Rs. 4,445 Crore for the period 2021-22 to 2027-28. The Government has finalised 7 sites including one in Warangal, Telangana for setting up PM MITRA Parks. The site was selected under brownfield category. ₹ 300 Cr. has already been expended towards development of trunk infrastructure. The park was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 10.05.2026. Currently, the park is operational with around 548 acres of land already being allotted to investors and commercial production has started. Once completed, the project is envisaged to generate 1 Lakh direct and 2 Lakh indirect Jobs. With existing commitments alone, over 24,400 direct jobs are expected to be generated. A strong majority of the workforce in operating apparel units comprises women. Structured skilling programs and local preference policies ensure gainful employment for youth and vulnerable sections, including Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), fostering inclusive regional development. ******
