HIMADRI SINGH: Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the current number and actual progress of water supply and sewerage projects approved under the AMRUT 2.0 in the urban local bodies of Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria and others falling under Shahdol Lok Sabha Constituency as on January 2025; (b) the special steps taken so far for rejuvenation of water bodies such as beautification of ponds and for recycling of water in tribal-dominated and plateau regions like Shahdol; (c) whether any project in Shahdol district has faced delays due to technical constraints, non-availability of No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the Forest Department or lack of financial resources; and (d) if so, the details thereof along with the efforts being made by the Government to overcome these obstacles? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU) (a): Under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0), the State Water Action Plans of Madhya Pradesh comprising of a total number of 17 water supply and sewerage projects worth ₹264.92 crore in Shahdol Lok Sabha Constituency have been approved. The State has not taken any sewerage and septage management project in this constituency. Details of the progress of the projects as informed by the State are given in Annexure-I. (b): Under AMRUT 2.0, rejuvenation of water bodies and wells is one of the main components. The admissible elements under this include rejuvenation of wetlands, water bodies by desilting, strengthening the embankments and stone packing, diverting the polluting drains to treatment plants, harvesting the rainwater through …2/--2- storm water drains into water body (which is not receiving sewage/ effluent), strengthening/ rejuvenation of the aquifers/ community wells, creation/ strengthening of storm water drains around water body, provision of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) to treat inflow into water body, development of the community green spaces linked to a clean water body. The State has taken up 20 water body rejuvenation projects worth ₹16.35 crore in Shahdol Lok Sabha Constituency. Details of the projects as reported by the State are given in Annexure-II. Further under AMRUT, a total of 889 sewerage and septage management projects amounting to ₹34,467 crore have been grounded. Through these projects, about 6,299 Million Litres per Day (MLD) of sewage treatment capacity has been approved. Of this, 4,843 MLD of sewage treatment capacity (new/augmented) has been created, out of which 1,437 MLD capacity has been developed for recycle and reuse of treated waste water. Under AMRUT 2.0, 583 sewerage/septage projects worth ₹66117.69 crore have been approved by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) so far.
