SUBSIDY FOR SOLAR PUMPS UNDER PM-KUSUM

will the minister of new and renewable energy be pleased to state:
(a) the date on which the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan
(PMKUSUM) scheme was launched and the number of farmers benefited under its various
components so far in the State of Madhya Pradesh specifically in Gwalior district;
(b) the details of the solar pumps and other projects sanctioned, installed and operational
under the scheme, component-wise;
(c) whether there is a provision for grant/subsidy for solar agricultural pumps of 5 HP and 10
HP capacity under the scheme and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, whether the Government is considering making special provisions to incentivize
solar pumps of 5 HP and 10 HP capacity and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) PM-KUSUM Scheme was launched by the Government on 8th March 2019. The component
wise progress under PM KUSUM in the country, including Madhya Pradesh, is placed at Annexure I.
As reported by State Implementing Agency, the component wise progress in Gwalior district is as
follow:

(c) & (d) Under Component ‘B’ of PM-KUSUM scheme, Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of 30%
(or 50% for North Eastern Region/Hilly region/Islands) of the benchmark cost or tender rates,
whichever is lower, is provided up to 7.5 HP. Installation of capacity higher than 7.5 HP up to 15 HP
is allowed for farmers in the NER, Hilly region and Islands, however the CFA for pumps up to 15 HP
is restricted to 10% of total installations.
