Suposhit Bharat initiative
108 Smt. Sumitra Balmik:
Will the Minister of Ayush be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the Suposhit Bharat initiative and the specific Ayush-based dietary
interventions (Ayush Aahar) introduced in Anganwadis of Madhya Pradesh to combat
malnutrition among women and children;
(b) whether the Ministry is promoting Garbh Sanskar modules in Ayush Health and Wellness
Centers to ensure the mental and physical well-being of pregnant women in rural areas; and
(c) the data regarding the distribution of AYUSH-64 and other immunity-boosting kits to
vulnerable populations in the tribal districts of Madhya Pradesh?

(a) to (c) A statement is laid on the Table of the House.The Statement referred in reply to Rajya Sabha Starred Question No.108 for 10.02.2026
(a) The Government is addressing malnutrition among women and children through Mission
Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, which includes Poshan Abhiyaan, Anganwadi Services
and the Scheme for Adolescent Girls, and is implemented through Anganwadi Centres across
the country, including Madhya Pradesh. Under Mission Poshan 2.0, a new strategy has been
made for reduction in malnutrition and for improved health, wellness and immunity through
activities like community engagement, outreach, behavioural change and advocacy. Ayush
healthcare has been given due emphasize in Poshan 2.0 through anganwadi centers with a
focus on prevention of diseases and promotion of wellness through Yoga, cultivation of
medicinal herbs in Poshan Vatikas, and preparation of Ayush formulations to address
conditions like anaemia.
As part of these efforts, 31,709 Poshan Vatikas have been developed in Anganwadi
Centres in Madhya Pradesh, while more than 3.13 lakh Poshan Vatikas have been developed
across the country. The Ministry of Ayush participated in Poshan Maah and Poshan
Pakhwada organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) through
its National Ayush Mission (NAM), National Institutes, Research Councils and Ayush
Colleges across the country, during which more than four crore Ayush-based activities were
conducted nationwide from 2021-2025.
The Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyaan under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and
Poshan 2.0 of MWCD launched on 26 December 2024, incentivises top performing Gram
Panchayats to strengthen Anganwadi services and nutrition related activities with a focus on
measurable improvements in nutritional outcomes of children, pregnant women and lactating
mothers. However there is no specific initiative titled Suposhit Bharat.
(b) Yes, under NAM, the service delivery framework of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres,
now known as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Ayush), envisages care during pregnancy and
childbirth as one of its activities through preventive pregnancy care (Garbhini Charya),
including appropriate food and lifestyle practices for the woman and family, specific dietary
preparations, use of home remedies, and Yoga.
Further Supraja program (Ayush Maternal & Neonatal Intervention) under NAM is a
specialized initiative aimed at promoting maternal and neonatal health outcomes byintegrating Ayush-based preventive, promotive, and therapeutic care into existing public
health systems.
(c) Yes, as per the data received from Directorate of Ayush, Government of Madhya Pradesh
immunity-boosting kits were distributed to vulnerable populations in all 51 districts of
Madhya Pradesh, including 20 tribal districts. The kits contained AYUSH-64 and other
immunity-boosting Ayush medicines, such as Ayush Kadha, Trikatu Churna, Sanshamani
Vati, Anu Taila, Arsenicum Album and Khameera Marwareed. The details are enclosed as
Annexure I.
Also the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an
autonomous organization under Ministry of Ayush is providing Ayurveda Health care
services in tribal dominant areas across the country at the door steps, through the Tribal
Health Care Research Programme (THCRP) under the Development Action Plan for
Scheduled Tribes (DAPST) through 14 CCRAS institutes in 14 states, including Madhya
Pradesh state. Under this programme, Ayuraksha Kits containing Chyawanprash, Ayush
Kwatha, Samshamani Vati, and Anu Taila were distributed by the CCRAS-Regional
Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Gwalior, in Scheduled Tribe-dominated areas of
Chhindwara district, specifically Block Tamia, Madhya Pradesh, during the financial year
2021-22.
