(a) the number of silk weavers in the district of Anakapalli in Andhra Pradesh;
(b) whether the Central Silk Board under Silk Samagra and Silk Samagra-2 provide support for
construction of silkworm rearing units to sericulture farmers and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether no silkworm rearing units have been set up or rearing houses have been provided support in
Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh; and
(d) if so, whether the Government is considering construction of silkworm rearing units/support rearing
houses in Anakapalli to help silk weavers in the district?

(a): As per the data with Government of Andhra Pradesh, 120 Silk Weavers are in the district of
Anakapalli in Andhra Pradesh.
(b) to (d): Based on the proposals received from States, CSB has provided Central assistance of
Rs.731.21 crore for the construction of 49,866 silkworm rearing houses/units including 20 silkworm
rearing houses/ units in Anakapalli district for sericulture farmers under the Silk Samagra and Silk
Samagra-2 schemes during the period 2017–18 to 2024–25.
