Willthe Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate:
(a) the details regarding the support provided by the Government for capacity building of doctors and paramedical staff in trauma management including training programmes' implementingInstitutions involvedandcurricula adoptedinthisregard;
(b) the details of the funds sanctioned and released by the Government for such capacity buildinginitiatives during the last five years, year-wiseandState/UT-wise;
(c) the details of the number of doctors and paramedical personnel trained under these programmes, State/UT-wise andyear-wise;
(d) whether the Government has established any centres of excellence, simulation labs or partnerships with National and International Institutions for trauma care training and if so, the detailsthereof; and
(e) the measures taken by the Government to address gaps identified in trauma management capacity, especiallyinunderserved States anddistricts of the country? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a) to (c): During 11th Five Year Plan (2007 2012) and 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017), 196 Trauma Care Facilities (TCFs) & 47 Burn Units have been sanctioned in Government Hospitals/ Medical Colleges across the country under the โNational Programme for Prevention & Management of Trauma and Burn Injuriesโ (NPPMT&BI). Beyond 12th Five Year Plan
(FYP), there is no provision for identification of new trauma care facilities. Under the NPPMT&BI, trauma management training has been conducted in Dr. R.M.L Hospital, New Delhi. The fund released and number of participants attended the training in Dr. R.M.L Hospital, New Delhi inthe year2024-25 & 2025-26 ismentionedat Annexure-I.
(d) & (e): 14 Institutes/Hospitals have been declared as Centre of Excellence (CoE) under the NPPMT&BI during FY 2024-25 & 2025-26. One of the mandates of CoEs is to conduct training for paramedics, nurses and doctors. CoE has been established on a geographical basis to ensure comprehensive coverage across the country. This aims to strengthen trauma care services throughimprovedinfrastructure, training,capacitybuilding,andsystemstrengthening.
