In response to Unstarred Question No. 2856, regarding support for renewable energy adoption in Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) stated that it is implementing PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) and National Bioenergy Programme across all districts of the country. Currently, there is no financial subsidy/incentive scheme for small wind turbine installations.
As per information from Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), the following installations have been completed in Amroha district: 563 rooftop solar plants in residential households under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, rooftop solar systems in 36 government buildings with a total capacity of 547.44 kW, 51 grid-connected irrigation pumps solarized under PM-KUSUM Scheme, and 1,544 solar street lighting systems.

Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to support households, industrial and public institutions
to adopt renewable energy solutions like solar rooftops, biogas plants and small wind turbines in
Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh;
(b) if so, the details of equipment installed, number of beneficiaries and outcomes achieved in
the said district; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is implementing PM Surya Ghar: Muft
Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) and National Bioenergy Programme in all districts of the
country. With regard to installation of small wind turbines, at present, there is no scheme for
providing financial subsidy/ incentive.
As per the information received from Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development
Agency (UPNEDA), details of solar systems installed/ number of beneficiaries in Amroha
district of Uttar Pradesh are as under:
• Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, rooftop solar plants have been installed in 563
residential households.
• Rooftop solar systems have been installed in 36 Government buildings with a total
capacity of 547.44 kW.
• Under PM-KUSUM Scheme, 51 grid-connected irrigation pumps have been solarized.
• A total of 1,544 solar street lighting systems have been installed.
