Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) whether any financial or technical support has been extended to MSMEs involved in bat
manufacturing to establish their own willow plantations and if so, the details thereof, and
(b) whether the Government is considering incentivising local farmers to grow willow trees
by offering subsidies or assured procurement and if so, the details thereof ?

(a) and (b): Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises doesn't have any specific,
scheme solely for MSMEs involved in bat manufacturing to establish their own willow
plantations. However, this Ministry implements a Scheme namely “Micro and Small
Enterprises- Cluster Development Program” under which, a Common Facility Centre at Cricket
Bat Manufacturing Industry Cluster Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir has been approved.
Further, MSME Technology development Centre, Meerut has reported that, they have provided
many skill development trainings to the MSMEs/trainees, who are engaged in manufacturing of
sports goods including Bat Manufacturing.
