Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) the number of start-ups supported by National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship
and Management (NIFTEM-K) under National Science and Innovation Programme (NSIP) along
with amount of financial assistance, incubation and mentorship support provided, State/UT-wise;
(b) whether the Government has data on number of students admitted to NIFTEM-K during the
academic year 2024-25, State/UT-wise;
(c) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise including the students from Uttar Pradesh particularly
Jhansi Lok Sabha Constituency;
(d) whether the Government proposes to set up regional campuses or collaborative centres of
NIFTEM in various States/UTs and if so the details thereof; and
(e) whether a regional centre is being considered for Bundelkhand or Jhansi and if so, the details
thereof?

(a) NIFTEM-Kundli supported a total of eight (8) start-ups under NIFTEM Start-up Incubation
Programme (NSIP-4). The State/UT-wise distribution of the selected start-ups is as follows:

2024-25 is at ‘Annexure. No separate Lok Sabha constituency wise data of students admitted in
NIFTEM-K is maintained. However, as per available records, three students have mentioned Jhansi/
Jhansi District as their place of residence during registration.
(d)&(e). At present, there is no proposal under consideration to set up regional campuses or
collaborative centres of NIFTEM in various States/Union Territories including Bundelkhand and
Jhansi. However, establishment of NIFTEM in Bihar state has been announced by government in the
Budget Speech 2025-26.
