GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF AYUSH RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3537 TO BE ANSWERED ON 24th MARCH 2026 Technological innovation, sustainability and strategic expansion in the AYUSH Sector 3537 Shri Sujeet Kumar: Will the Minister of Ayush be pleased to state: (a) the milestones of 'Ayush Suraksha' Portal in tracking adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and misleading advertisements and complaints resolved across States/UTs; (b) the status of collaboration with Department of Bio Technology (DBT) under BioE3 Policy for Ayu-genomics integration into precision medicine and progress of AyurTech Centre of Excellence at IIT Jodhpur; (c) the steps taken by National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB) for linking medicinal plant farmers with Green Credit Program and incentives for cultivating Arjuna and Guggal through carbon markets; (d) the progress of Sowa-Rigpa wellness centres under Vibrant Villages Programme and NISR's medical camps in border tribal areas; and (e) the Ministry's support for Organ-on-a-Chip and 3D-Bioprinting for AYUSH product validation and regulatory roadmap? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) Ministry of Ayush has launched an IT enabled online portal “Ayush Suraksha” to track the reported Misleading Advertisements (MLAs)/Objectionable Advertisements (OAs) and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) on 30th May 2025. The portal features a centralized dashboard for capturing of MLAs/OAs and tracking of suspected ADRs for prompt regulatory action and comprehensive data analysis. The number of complaints registered on the Ayush Suraksha Portal since its inception are attached at Annexure-I. All complaints received over the Ayush Suraksha Portal has been forwarded to the concerned authorities for further necessary action. As per the information received from State/UT Governments, the details of the number of complaints received and Action Taken thereon on the Ayush Suraksha portal till date are attached at Annexure-II. 1(b) The AyurTech Centre of Excellence at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur was established with a financial support of ₹10 crore by the Ministry of Ayush under the Centre of Excellence (CoE) component of Ayurswasthya Yojana. Based on the outcomes of the AyurTech project, IIT Jodhpur, as a coordinating institute has been given in-principle approval for a project entitled “PRISM - Prakriti Informed Digital Twins for Precision Wellness and Medicine" under BIO-E3 policy of the Department of Biotechnology – Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council Bio-AI Hub Scheme (DBT-BIRAC BioAI Hub Scheme). (c) The cultivation of medicinal plants is not directly supported under the Central Sector Scheme for Conservation, Development and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants implemented by the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB). However, from the financial year 2023–24 onwards, NMPB has extended support through the Forward and Backward Linkages in the Supply Chain of Medicinal Plants (Integrated Component) under the existing scheme. Under this component, project-based assistance is provided for Infrastructure for Quality Planting Material (QPM) to support the availability of planting material for cultivation, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities to create awareness among farmers, Infrastructure for post-harvest management and marketing to enhance marketability, add value to produce, improve profitability, and reduce losses and Quality testing and certification of raw materials. Till date, NMPB has approved a total of 15 project proposals to the different organization under this integrated component since the financial year 2023–24 to till date to cover approximately 2000 hectare area under cultivation of different medicinal plants including Guggal by providing the QPM to the farmers. Further, in the past, NMPB has supported 135 hectare and 450-hectare area under cultivation of in Arjun and Guggal under the medicinal plants component of National Ayush Mission (NAM) Scheme from the F.Y. 2015-16 to 2020-21. (d) Under the Vibrant Villages Programme, no Sowa-Rigpa wellness centres has been included. However, the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh is implementing Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) projects in the Leh and Zanskar districts of the Union Territory of Ladakh. Under these projects, regular free medical camps are organized and awareness programmes on hygiene and nutrition are conducted in border tribal areas, providing doorstep healthcare services. These initiatives also contribute to improving healthcare access and preserving indigenous knowledge in remote border regions.
