Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the current status of the Technology Centres and Extension Centres (TCEC) scheme and
the number of centres established so far;
(b) the details regarding the locations and allocations for the 20 new Technology Centres and
100 Extension Centres;
(c) the manner in which the Government would ensure that these centres are equipped with
the latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality
(VR), Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotics;
(d) the measures being taken to ensure that the benefits of these centres reach Micro, Small
and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural and underserved areas;
(e) the details of the skill development programmes and training initiatives offered by these
centres; and
(f) the manner in which the Government would evaluate the effectiveness of these centres in
promoting the growth and development of MSMEs?

(a) and (b): The details and status of approved Technology Centres and Extension Centres are
attached at Annexure-A and Annexure-B respectively.
(c): The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of the Technology Centres and Extension Centres are
prepared to suitably incorporate the facilities for the latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence
(AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotics as per the
need of the stakeholders in the catchment area.
(d): The Extension Centres are established under the Mentor Technology Centres in a “hub and
spoke” model to cover rural and underserved area.
(e): The operational Extension Centres have provided training to 1,08,297 trainees and assisted
2521 MSME units till June 2025.
(f): The respective Governing Councils would review the effectiveness of these centers in
