(a) to (e): The Government recognizes that the textile and apparel sector, including handloom, powerloom and readymade garments, has significant potential for employment generation and export growth. The Government is administering various Pan India Schemes to promote self-employment and for modern technology & marketing support in textile sector and to boost exports in textile related industries across the country including Siwan Lok Sabha Constituency. A total of Rs. 61,911 export of textiles (Handicraft, Manmade Yarn, Fabrics, Madeups etc.) was reported in the Siwan district during the year 2024-25. As per e-shram portal, a total of 1,63,266 persons(as on 6.3.2026) were registered under Apparel & textiles related industry in Siwan, Bihar. Approximately 1,550 handlooms are reported in the district, providing livelihood to around 1,850 weavers. At present, the PLI Scheme does not include any agency/ company belonging to Siwan Lok Sabha Constituency. However, there is one participant textile sector company namely M/s NZ Seasonal Wear Pvt. Ltd., under the PLI Scheme from Hajipur (Bihar), nearby Siwan. The Siwan Parliamentary Constituency has no such textile park at present. However, the Government has taken several steps to promote the textile sector and generate employment, e.g. National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP) for support to handloom weavers, SAMARTH Scheme for skill development and capacity building in the textile sector and Marketing support through exhibitions, e-commerce platforms and Government procurement initiatives.
