TRAINING CENTRES UNDER PM VISHWAKARMA YOJANA

Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the current status of implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (PMVY)
in the Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka along with the number of beneficiaries registered
and enrolled till date;
(b) the number and details of training centres sanctioned under the scheme for the district,
including their locations and the trades for which training is being provided;
(c) whether any of these training centres are currently operational and if so, the number of
artisans undergoing training at each centre;
(d) whether the Government has received or approved any proposals to establish additional
training centres under the scheme in Dakshina Kannada and if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the specific targets set for the district under the scheme in terms of skill training,
certification, toolkit distribution and financial assistance along with the progress made against each
target?

(a): PM Vishwakarma scheme was launched on 17.09.2023 to provide end-to-end support to
artisans and craftspeople of 18 specified traditional trades who work with their hands and tools.As
of 21.07.2025, in the district of Dakshin Kannada; 25,749 applications have been received under
the Scheme, out of which 7,247 artisans have been successfully registered after three stage
verification process.
(b): The details of training centres under PM Vishwakarma in Dakshina Kannada district are at
Annexure-I.
(c): As per the information received from Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship
(MSDE), no any training centre is currently operational in Dakshina Kannada district and hence no
batches are undergoing training at present.
(d): Based on the recommendation of the Regional Directorate of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship, Government Training Centres are being on-boarded by Ministry of Skill
Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) for skill training under PM Vishwakarma, following
the prescribed accreditation and affiliation procedures.
(e): PM Vishwakarma scheme is demand driven; no district wise target has been set up for skill
training, certification, toolkit distribution and financial assistance. However, in due course of time,
skill training and toolkit will be provided to all the registered PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries. As
of 21.07.2025; total 5,678 beneficiaries have completed basic skill training, toolkit delivered to the
doorstep of 615 beneficiaries through India Post and concessional collateral free loans have been
provided to 3,424 PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries amounting to Rs. 33.05 crore in the Dakshina
Kannada district, Karnataka.
