TRAINING PROVIDED UNDER FUTURESKILLS PRIME IN ODISHA
2473. SHRI SUJEET KUMAR:
Will the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology be pleased to state:
(a) the number of persons trained in Artificial Intelligence (AI), data science and related emerging
technologies under FutureSkills Prime, State-wise, year-wise;
(b) the district-wise figures for Odisha, including the number of trainees, certification levels and
institutions involved;
(c) the details of incubation centres established by the Ministry in collaboration with Government
of Odisha, including location, funding and sectors supported; and
(d) the number of trainees placed in employment, internships or Startups after completion of AI-
related courses?

(a) to (d): India is a Skills capital in IT and Government has been taking steps to ensure that we
continue to retain our advantage in IT skills.
MeitY has initiated a programme titled “FutureSkills PRIME”, jointly with NASSCOM for re-
skilling/ up-skilling of candidates in new/emerging technologies, aimed at making India a cutting-
edge digital talent nation.
Key features are:
• Skilling, reskilling, and upskilling in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence,
Big Data Analytics, IoTs, Cyber Security, Blockchain, AR/VR, etc.
• Courses are developed in the consultation with industry to align with actual employment
needs.
• Portal can be accessed anytime-anywhere to earn skill certificates in line with their aptitude
and aspirations.
• Accessible online at https://futureskillsprime.in/
So far, more than 27.53 Lakh candidates have registered out of which 17.2 lakh candidates have
enrolled/trained, comprising of 80% candidates from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
The State-wise and Year-wise details are placed at Annexure-IMore than 6000 candidates have completed the internships, out of which 1500 candidates have
completed the internships in AI/Big Data technologies.
SSC-NASSCOM has signed an MoU with Department of Higher Education, Odisha for adoption
of FSP courses in higher education institutes in Odisha. A total of 37,111 candidates are
enrolled/trained in various courses in the State of Odisha, district-wise details placed at Annexure-
II.
FSP portal is integrated with Nasscom’s Talent Connect portal, enabling industry job opportunities
access to the candidates.
MeitY in collaboration with Government of Odisha has established a Centre of Excellence (CoE)
in Emerging Technologies (EmTek) in Bhubaneswar through Software Technology Parks of India
(STPI) with a Satellite Center at Rourkela.
The CoE aims at supporting startups in Industry 4.0 technologies viz. Data Analytics, Machine
Learning, Cyber Security & Artificial Intelligence (AI) & be the preferred Start-Up destination in
Industry 4.0 in Odisha. The budget outlay of CoE in EmTek is Rs. 21.25 Crore including Rs. 6.13
Crore contribution from MeitY over a period of 5 years.
MeitY has also established an Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Incubation
Centre at STPI Bhubaneswar. This is aimed at creating a holistic eco-system to promote ESDM
innovation, R&D and create Indian intellectual property in the Eastern Region of the country.
The Centre has been setup in collaboration with Government of Odisha, STPI as funding partners,
International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhubaneswar and India Electronics and
Semiconductor Association (IESA). The budget outlay of the Centre is Rs 22.44 Crore including
Rs. 2.50 Crore contribution from MeitY over a period of 5 years.
