Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that the Rupapeth-Khadki-Sawalhira road
and various other roads connecting tribal-dominated remote
areas (like Yergarvhan-ChanaiKhurd, Kanhalgaon-Mandwa,
etc.) near Manikgad hill in KorpanaTaluka of Chandrapur
district of Maharashtra are in dilapidated condition with
potholes making travel a life-threatening affair;
(b) if so, the difficulties being faced by tribal villagers in getting
healthcare and other essential facilities due to the said plight;
(c) whether it is a fact that the bridges between TangalaChampati
and Jambhuldhara get submerged in water during monsoon
bringing the traffic to a complete standstill; and
(d) if so, the concrete steps the Government is taking to repair
roads and build a big bridge from TangalaChampati to
Jambhuldhara and the time by which the said work is likely to
be completed?

(a) & (b): The Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) is being
implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development as a one-time
poverty alleviation program that provides all-weather road
connectivity to the unconnected habitations since the year 2000
through various verticals. Further, "rural roads" is a State subject,
and the responsibility of their maintenance lies with the State
Governments.

Rupapeth-Khadki-Sawalhira road and various other roads
connecting tribal-dominated remote areas (like Yergarvhan-
ChanaiKhurd, Kanhalgaon-Mandwa, etc.) near Manikgad hill in
KorpanaTaluka of Chandrapur district of Maharashtra are not in a
dilapidated condition. The Khadki–Tangala–Chenai–Kanhalgaon road
(T-16), having a length of 11.00 km, was constructed under PMGSY-
I, Phase-XII, Batch-I (Schedule-V) and was completed on 01.05.2018.
The Defect Liability Period (DLP) for this road concluded on
01.05.2023.
During 5 years DLP, an expenditure of Rs. 10.91 lakh has been
incurred for the maintenance of the road from State funds. The road
has now transitioned to the Post-DLP stage, with the State required
to take up further maintenance of the road as per the maintenance
policy.
The State Government has further informed that currently, no
work is underway, and the road is motorable and in reasonably fair
condition. It has also informed that State schemes, such as
MukhyaMantri Gram SadakYojana-II (MMGSY-II) will be utilized for
the upgradation and maintenance of this road, as required.
(c) & (d): The State Government of Maharashtra has informed that
on the Tangala to Khadki road, near Tangala village, there is one
Flood Causeway and one Raised Causeway at chainages 7/250 and
8/100, respectively. During the monsoon season, these causeways
are occasionally submerged, resulting in traffic interruptions of
about 2 to 3 hours. State schemes, such as MukhyaMantri Gram
SadakYojana-II (MMGSY-II), will be utilized for the replacement of
the causeways with box culverts and upgradation of this road, and
the road and bridges connecting Tangala, Champati, and
Jambhuldhara villages, as required.
