BHOLA SINGH: Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state: (a) the features of the Udyam Scheme/Registration Portal; (b) the details of the funds sanctioned, allocated and utilised under this scheme across the country including Tamil Nadu; (c) the number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) registered on Udyam Portal since its launch, State-wise including Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh; (d) the details of the key achievements of this scheme across the country; (e) whether this scheme has proved a major milestone for MSME sector within the country and if so, the details thereof; and (f) the key initiatives to support agro-based and rural MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE) (a): On 1st July, 2020, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) launched Udyam Registration Portal (URP), a free of cost, paperless and fully digitalized online platform, on which an enterprise can register itself as an MSME. (b) & (c): Udyam Registration is free of cost and anyone can self register. No funds are sanctioned, allotted and utilised for this. The State/UT-wise details of MSMEs registered on the URP across the country, including the State of Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, as on 18.07.2025 are given at Annexure. (d) & (e): Udyam has provided an identity to the MSMEs and has become an enabler for the MSME Sector across the country. An enterprise after registering on the URP becomes eligible to avail the benefits of the Schemes of the Ministry, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria defined in the guidelines. (f): The Central Government supplements the efforts of the State/UT Governments to support the MSMEs through its various schemes, programmes and initiatives. Under the Ministry of MSME, Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a major initiative to support agro- based and rural enterprises in the country.
