Parliament Question: Upgradation of Gopabandhu Ayurvedic College in Puri

Shri Subhasish Khuntia: Will the Minister of Ayush be pleased to state: (a) whether Government has any proposal for upgradation of Gopabandhu Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Puri, as a satellite centre of the All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) and, if so, the details thereof; (b) whether any criteria and norms have been prescribed for establishing satellite centres of AllA in States and, if so, the details thereof; and (c) whether Odisha has been considered under any expansion plan for strengthening tertiary- level AYUSH institutions and, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (c) At present, no proposal is under consideration for the upgradation of Gopabandhu Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Puri, as a satellite centre of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA). However, during the presentation of the Union Budget 2026-27 on February 1, 2026 it has been announced to establish three new All India Institutes of Ayurveda (AIIAs). ***** Page 1 of 1
