(a) the details of works carried out so far for the upgradation and capacity building of
schools under the National Education Policy, 2020 under PM Shri Vidyalaya Yojana in the
country;
(b) the amount of funds sanctioned under this scheme in the country along with the
number of schools benefited from this scheme so far, State/UT-wise including Rajasthan
and Bihar, district-wise;
(c) whether the Government is aware of the fact that some States have not fully
implemented the National Education Policy, 2020;
(d) if so, the details and the reasons therefor;
(e) the number of schools selected so far under the PM Shri Vidyalaya Yojana in the
country, State/UT-wise including Rajasthan and Bihar, district-wise;
(f) the criteria adopted by the Government for selecting the schools under this scheme;
(g) whether monitoring mechanisms have been established by the Government to ensure
timely completion of infrastructure and quality benchmarks in these schools, if so, the
details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and
(h) the details of list of schools selected under PM Shri Vidyalaya Yojana in Udaipur,
Salumber, Dungarpur and Pratapgarh districts of Rajasthan along with the amount of funds

(a): For upgradation and capacity building of schools under the National Education
Policy, 2020, PM SHRI scheme has a provision to saturate PM SHRI schools with various
components such as computer lab/ICT lab/smart classrooms, library with good furniture,
internet facility, vocational skill education, guidance and career counselling, fully
equipped integrated science lab/physics lab/chemistry lab/biology lab, playground with
well-equipped sports facilities, school innovation council, youth and eco club for mission
life, BaLa features and jaadui pitara for primary school children, 10 bagless days for
students, child tracking software for tracking the children attendance, fully functioning
handwashing facility and toilets, green school features etc.
(b) The State/UT/KVS/NVS/NCERT-wise amount of funds sanctioned along with the
number of schools benefited under the PM SHRI scheme including Rajasthan and Bihar is
attached as Annexure-I.(c) & (d): As per National Education Policy 2020, implementation of the policy
requires multiple initiatives and actions, which will have to be taken by multiple bodies in
a synchronized and systematic manner. NEP 2020 provides different timelines as well as
principles and methodology for its implementation. It also envisions operationalization of
the entire policy in the decade of 2030-40, following which another comprehensive review
will be undertaken. Education is in the concurrent list of the Constitution. Majority of
schools are managed by respective State/UT Governments. The Ministry of Education
takes necessary steps to support States in implementing NEP 2020.
(e): Under the PM SHRI scheme, a total of 13,076 schools have been selected from 33
States/UTs along with KVS, NVS, and NCERT. The State/UT-wise number of schools
selected including Rajasthan and Bihar, district-wise under PM SHRI scheme is attached
as Annexure-II.
(f): The criteria adopted by the Government for selecting the schools under the PM
SHRI scheme are provided under “Selection Methodology (Page no. 13-22)” of the PM
SHRI Framework, available at the link:

(g): The following steps have been taken to monitor timely completion of infrastructure
and quality benchmarks in the PM SHRI schools:
i. Monitoring of expenditure through a separate PRABANDH Portal
(https://prabandh.education.gov.in/pmshri/) developed by NIC, enabling monitoring
of utilisation and outcomes under various components approved by PAB.
ii. Conduct of regular monthly reviews with States/UTs to assess progress.
iii. A dedicated PM SHRI schools activities portal
(https://pmshri.education.gov.in/sqaf/activities) has been developed to capture real-
time data from schools, including student-level outcomes, infrastructure readiness,
component-wise saturation, and progress on key indicators.
iv. A School Quality Assessment Framework (SQAF) has been developed as per the
recommendations of National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, indicating the level of
proficiency to be achieved by each PM SHRI school. SQAF is divided into six
main domains, based on the six pillars of the PM SHRI scheme.
v. Field visits by officials of the department for on-ground monitoring of the PM
SHRI schools under the scheme.
(h): The number of PM SHRI schools selected from the districts of Udaipur, Salumber,
Dungarpur and Pratapgarh along with the amount of funds allocated are as follows:
