SHRI PRAKASH CHIK BARAIK: Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state: (a) the details of sanctioned and in-position strength of Grade “A” services under the Central Government as on 18th February 2026; and (b) the year-wise details (in per cent of total sanctioned strength) of those belonging to SC, ST and OBC category appointed to Grade “A” services as Direct Recruit during the last five years? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE (DR. JITENDRA SINGH) (a) and (b): The details of sanctioned strength, persons-in-position appointments made through direct recruitment (and category-wise details thereof) in respect of various Group "A" services are maintained by the respective Cadre Controlling Authorities / Ministries / Departments. Compiled information on sanctioned strength and persons-in- position (including for Group "A" posts) Central Government is available in Annual Reports of the Pay Research Unit, Department of Expenditure, which are publicly accessible at https://doe.gov.in/annual- report-pay-and-allowances. Information on candidates recommended for appointment through direct recruitment by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to various Group "A" posts in Central Government, along with SC, ST, OBC category-wise details is available in the Annual Reports of UPSC which are publicly accessible at: https://upsc.gov.in/annual-reports. *****
