Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) the number of vacancies and sanctioned posts in Kendriya Vidyalaya
Sangathan (KVS) across the country both faculty and non-faculty posts;
(b) the details of recruitment made for permanent positions in KVS including faculty
and non-faculty posts since 2014, year and category-wise;
(c) the number of contractual staff including faculty and non-faculty hired in KVS
since 2014, year wise;
(d) the details and the number of posts filled by EWS, OBC and SC/ST candidates
in KVS in faculty and non-faculty posts, category-wise; and
(e) whether any reservation norms have been followed by the Government in
recruitment of contractual staff in KVS, if so, the details of contractual staff from
EWS, OBC and SC/STs, category-wise?

REGARDING “Vacancies in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan”.
(a) to (e) Vacancies keep on arising due to opening of new Kendriya Vidyalayas
(KVs), retirement, resignation, promotion of employees, transfer, employees going
on lien to another department and up-gradation of schools. Filling up of vacancies is
a continuous process and efforts are made to fill up the vacancies as per the
provisions of the relevant recruitment rules.
Teachers are also engaged on contractual basis for temporary duration at the
local level against sanctioned posts, whenever regular or leave vacancies arise in a
KV to ensure that the teaching-learning process is not hampered. Since this
engagement is purely stop-gap in nature, made to prevent disruption in the
teaching–learning process until the regular incumbent joins, the tenure of contractual
teachers cannot be predetermined. Efforts are made to recruit regular teachers at
the earliest so that interest of students does not suffer.
Regular appointment is made by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)
through direct recruitment process as per the recruitment rules of KVS incorporating
the reservation norms as notified by the Government of India from time to time.
The total number of sanctioned posts, staff in position (category wise) and
vacant posts of teaching and non-teaching staff in KVS across the country as on
