GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 159 ANSWERED ON 29.07.2026 VACANT POSTS IN IREDA *159. SHRI MURARI LAL MEENA Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state: - (a) the details of sanctioned, filled and vacant posts under Groups A, B, C, and D in the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), group-wise; (b) the details of the currently filled posts, vacant and backlog posts as per the reservation norms prescribed for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the said agency, group-wise; (c) the details of the sanctioned posts, employees working in the agency, reserved posts and filled posts, group-wise; (d) the details of the special recruitment drives conducted during the last three years to fill up the vacant and backlog posts of SC/ST categories; and (e) the time-bound action plan formulated to ensure full compliance with the reservation policy? (SHRI PRALHAD JOSHI) (a) to (e): A statement is laid on the Table of the House.STATEMENT Statement referred to in reply to parts (a) to (e) of the Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 159 to be answered on 29.07.2026 regarding “Vacant Posts in IREDA” (a): Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), being a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), follows the employee categorization prescribed under the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) guidelines. Accordingly, employees are broadly classified as Executives (E-0 to E-9 level), Non-Unionised Supervisors (S-1 and S-2 level) and Non-Executives (NE-1 to NE-7 (Selection Grade (SG)) level). Further, in IREDA, E-1 to E-9 level are classified under Group-A, E-0 level is classified under Group-B, NE-3 to NE-7 (Selection Grade) and S-1to S-2 level are classified under Group-C, NE-1 & NE-2 level are classified under Group-D. The group- wise details of sanctioned, filled and vacant posts under Groups A, B, C, and D in IREDA are given at Annexure-I. (b): In compliance with Deptt. of Personnel and Training (DoPT) Office Memorandum (OM) No.36012/2/96-Estt.(Res) dated 02.07.1997, IREDA is maintaining post-based reservation rosters. Also, the reservation rosters are maintained for direct recruitment on all India basis - by open competition (SCs – 15%, STs – 7.5%) and otherwise than by open competition (SCs – 16.66%, STs – 7.5%). The group-wise details of the currently filled posts, vacant and backlog posts as per the reservation norms prescribed for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) are given at Annexure-II. (c): The group-wise details of the sanctioned posts, employees working in the agency, reserved posts and filled posts are given at Annexure-III. (d): During the last three years, no separate special recruitment drive was undertaken by IREDA. However, while undertaking direct recruitment during this period, the vacant as well as backlog reserved posts, wherever applicable to the advertised posts, were duly taken into account in accordance with the extant guidelines on reservation. Accordingly, the reservation requirements, including backlog vacancies, were advertised along with other regular posts, through the regular recruitment process. (e): IREDA is in compliance with the reservation policy of the Government of India and all applicable instructions / guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) and other competent authorities from time to time. Accordingly, no separate time-bound action plan has been formulated, as the prescribed reservation provisions are being implemented on a continuous basis in all applicable recruitment and service matters.
