SAGARIKA GHOSE: Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state: (a) the number of sanctioned posts, in position and the number of vacancies, including reserved posts across categories in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology; and (b) the number of contractual employees hired since 2021, the details thereof, year-wise category- wise? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) and (b): The number of sanctioned posts in Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is 734. It maintains an adequate workforce to meet its functional requirements and innovation priorities in light of evolving technology landscape. The occurrence and filling of posts in the Ministry is a continuous process and reviewed on a regular basis. Recruitment is undertaken from time to time as per extant rules and prescribed procedures.
