RAKIBUL HUSSAIN: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण मं(cid:361)ी be pleased to state: (a) whether lift irrigation and solar-powered irrigation systems are being considered for flood-affected districts of Assam; (b) the number of such systems approved or installed so far; (c) the extent of agricultural land benefited; and; (d) whether additional approvals are under consideration, and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI BHAGIRATH CHOUDHARY) (a) to (d) : Minor irrigation projects in flood-affected districts of Assam are eligible for consideration under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana - Har Khet Ko Pani (PMKSY-HKKP). At present, 10 clusters comprising 474 Surface Minor Irrigation (SMI) schemes in Assam are under implementation under PMKSY-HKKP. Through the implementation of these schemes, an irrigation potential of 1.32 lakh hectares has been created up to March 2025. The details of these schemes are provided in Annexure. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme was launched by the Government in March, 2019 to provide financial support to the farmers for installation of standalone solar pumps and solarization of existing grid- connected agriculture pumps, and to provide the farmers an opportunity to become solar entrepreneurs by installing solar power plants on their barren/ fallow/ agriculture land. It is a demand-driven scheme, and capacities are allocated based on the demand raised by the state and milestones achieved. The scheme is being implemented in all states, including the State of Assam. State Implementing Agencies (SIA) are empowered for beneficiary selection and further implementation of the scheme at district level including flood-affected areas. As on 28.02.2026, as reported by the SIA, the Letter of Award/Work Orders are issued for 1695 pumps, out of which 1,066 solar pumps have been installed under the PM-KUSUM Scheme in Assam, including flood affected districts of the State.
