WIND ENERGY PROJECTS IN ANDHRA PRADESH

Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the wind energy projects that are proposed, under consideration, and presently
operational in the country, State-wise particularly in Andhra Pradesh;
(b) the details of the Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) and private companies engaged in the
manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of wind turbines and wind energy projects
during the last five years, State-wise particularly in Andhra Pradesh; and
(c) the details of the funds allocated, sanctioned, released and utilised for development,
expansion, and grid integration of wind energy projects during the last five years, scheme, year
and State-wise particularly in Andhra Pradesh?

(a) The estimated wind energy projects potential of the country including Andhra Pradesh is
about 1164 GW at 150 meter above ground level as per wind resource assessment conducted
by the National Institute of Wind Energy. The operational capacity of wind energy projects in
the country is 55,132.5 MW as on 28.02.2026. In addition, about 29,534.65 MW capacity wind
energy projects is under implementation stage. The state wise details of wind energy projects
potential, operational and under implementation wind energy capacity including Andhra
Pradesh are given in Annexure-I.
(b) The major wind energy project developers and wind turbine manufacturers operating in the
country including Andhra Pradesh are given in Annexure-II.
(c) Wind energy projects are set up by private/public sector developers in the country based on
techno economic viability of the project.
Further, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy is implementing Green Energy Corridor
scheme in 10 states including in Andhra Pradesh for construction of intra-state transmission
system for evacuation of renewable energy (RE) including wind energy projects. The details of
fund sanctioned and released under Green Energy Corridor Scheme during the last five years
is placed at Annexure-III.
