SHRI BRIJMOHAN AGRAWAL: Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to state: (a) the number of courses being offered by the Government for yoga skills along with the duration of each course; (b) the data of beneficiaries of these courses for financial years, 2023-2024 and 2024- 2025, State/UT-wise including Chhattisgarh; (c) the number of international and national placements of trained professionals in yoga during the said period, State/UT-wise including Chhattisgarh; (d) whether any portal has been created by the Government for placement and other assistance to the trained students; and (e) if so, the details thereof ? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a) & (b) : Under the Government of India’s Skill India Mission (SIM), the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) delivers skill, re-skill and up-skill training through an extensive network of skill development centres / institutes etc. under various schemes, viz. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), to all the sections of the society across the country including backward and tribal region. The SIM aims at enabling youth of India to get future ready and equipped with industry relevant skills. Under PMKVY, Yoga Instructor, Yoga Trainer and Assistant Yoga Instructor courses are offered. The typical duration of these courses ranges from 200 to 500 hours (approx. 03 to 06 months), combining theoretical instruction and practical training in anatomy, physiology, asanas, pranayama, meditation techniques, and teaching methodology. State-wise details of the candidates trained in these courses under PMKVY during 2023-24 and 2024-25 are given at Annexure. Under CTS also, long-term skill training is provided under Cosmetology and Spa Therapy trades. Under NAPS, the apprentices are engaged by the establishments in trades like Yoga Assistant - Sports, Yoga Instructor (Beauty & Wellness), and Yoga Trainer – Sports, also. Also, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) conducts various educational and training programs. Under these programs of MDNIY, overall 3018 beneficiaries in 2023-24 and 3006 beneficiaries in 2024-25 have been benefited.(c) to (e): Amongst the schemes of MSDE, placements were tracked under the Short-Term Training component of PMKVY in the first three versions (PMVY1.0, PMKVY 2.0 and PMKVY 3.0) implemented from 2015-16 to 2021-22. Under PMKVY 4.0, the focus is on empowering the trained candidates to choose their varied career path and they are suitably oriented for the same. Further, various IT tools like Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) also gives this opportunity. Also, trained candidates in yoga and wellness related courses are encouraged to pursue opportunities in wellness centres, educational institutions, fitness facilities, and self-employment. MSDE has launched Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) a unified platform that integrates skilling, education, employment, and entrepreneurship ecosystems to provide a life-long array of services. The details of the trained candidates are available on SIDH portal for connecting with potential employers. Through SIDH, candidates can have access to jobs and apprenticeship opportunities.
