GUJARAT PRIMARY EDUCATION ACT, 1947.
No. K/SH/34/ED/KOR/e-file/3/2026/1596/K:- WHEREAS the Government of Gujarat is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action to make the rules and to dispense with the previous publication thereof under the proviso to sub-section (3) of section 63 of the Gujarat Primary Education Act, 1947 (Bom. LXI of
1947);
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 63 of the Gujarat Primary Education Act, 1947 (Bom. LXI of 1947), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Bombay Primary Education Rules, 1949, namely: -
(1) These rules may be called the Bombay Primary Education (Gujarat Amendment) Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Bombay Primary Education Rules, 1949, in rule 1, for sub-rule (1), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:- "1. (1) These rules may be called the Gujarat Primary Education Rules, 1949." 5253 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EX,. 17-09-2026 [PART-I-A
3. Construction of references and Savings:
With effect from the date of commencement of these amendment rules, the word "Bombay", wherever it occurs in these rules, sub-rules, resolutions, orders, circulars, regulations, or notifications relating to primary education issued by or under the authority of the Government of Gujarat prior to such commencement, the same shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be construed and read as "Gujarat" and shall take effect accordingly.
