NOTIFICATION
No.1/D-9/2026.— Whereas, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, in exercise of the powers
conferred under Article 208(1) of the Constitution of India, has hereby approved the following rules
further to amend the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rules.
Now therefore, in pursuance of sub-rule (3) of rule 225 to the Maharashtra Legislative
Assembly Rules, the said amendments are hereby published in the Official Gazette.
1. (1) Short Title.—This rules may be called the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly
(Amendment) Rules, 2025.
(2) These rules shall come into force on the date of their publication in Official Gazette.
2. After rules 270 of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rules (hereafter referred to as
‘‘ the Principal Rules ’’) the following rule shall be inserted :—

“ 270 (A) Every Petition after presentation by a member shall be referred to the
presentation,

petition. Provided that the Speaker may refer the petiotions received during non-session period
to the committee at his dicretion.’’
3. In rule 272 of Principal Rules :—
(1) Sub-rule (1) shall be deleted.
(2) In the marginal note, the words, ‘‘After presentation, petition to be referred to the
committee on Petition’’ shall be deleted.
