WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Maharashtra Slum Areas XXVIII )Improvement, Clearance and Redevelopment( Act, 1971 for the purposes of 1971. hereinafter appearing; it is hereby enacted in the Seventy-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows :— 1. This Act may be called the Maharashtra Slum Areas )Improvement, Short title. In section 34A of the Maharashtra Slum Areas )Improvement, Mah. of section Clearance and Redevelopment( Act, 1971, for sub-section )1(, the following XXVIII 34A of of 1971. sub-section shall be substituted, namely:- Mah. XXVIII of 1971. ‘‘)1( The State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute, the Apex Grievance Redressal Committee or Committees, for such area as may be specified in the notification, consisting of the Chairperson and such number of members and for the purposes of exercising such powers and performing such functions as the Government may deem fit to assign to it under this Act.”.
