pursuant to several representations from Sailing Vessels Owners Associations
and realizing the importance of trade to meet demand of live stock in Mid East Asian
countries, considering the social problems of unemployment of sailing vessel seamen
and after careful examinations of weather pattern in the North Arabian sea off North
Gujarat coast and adjoining west central Arabian sea off oman coast as per the reports
provided by lndian Metrological Department (lMD), the Director General of Shipping is
pleased to order the following relaxation to MS Notice No 28 of 2009'
1. The concerned Registrars of sailing Vessels, Port Administrations and custom
commissioners may allow plying of Mechanized sailing Vessels (MSVs) in North
Arabian sea off North Gujarat coast and adjoining west cenkal Arabian sea off oman
coast during foul weather up to 1Oth June, 2018, provided such MSVs meet the following
criteria:
(a) Sailing Vessels prior departure would inform the Principal officer (Po)' MMD
