The Ministry of Heavy Industries announced the status of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automotive and Auto Components Industry (PLI Auto scheme) and the PLI scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage (PLI-ACC).
As of September 30, 2025, the PLI Auto scheme has four manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh with an aggregate investment of ₹1,142.28 crore. Country-wide, the scheme has generated an investment of ₹35,657 crore, incremental sales of ₹32,879 crore (based on FY2019-20), and employment for 48,974 people. Incentives disbursed total ₹1,350.83 crore (till November 30, 2025).
For the PLI-ACC scheme, out of a total targeted capacity of 50 GWh, 40 GWh of ACC capacity has been awarded to four beneficiary firms. Beneficiary firms report 1 GWh capacity has been installed, along with cumulative investment of ₹2,878 crore and employment generation of 1,118 until October 31, 2025.
Both schemes are pan-India, allowing companies to choose preferred locations based on business needs, infrastructure, and resource availability. This information was provided by the Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Shri Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma.

Both PLI-Auto and PLI-ACC schemes are pan-India schemes and does not mandate particular locations
for setting up manufacturing units. Companies can choose their preferred locations based on strategic
business needs, infrastructure and resource availability, ensuring flexibility in establishing facilities across
India.
