Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India Press Release | 30th September, 2026 Extension of Last Date for Submission of Feedback on the Consultation Paper on ‘Public Insurance Registry (PIR)’ The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) had released a Consultation Paper on the proposed Public Insurance Registry (PIR) on 1st September, 2026, soliciting comments and suggestions from the public, policyholders, insurers, intermediaries and all other ecosystem stakeholders. The PIR is envisaged as a foundational, population-scale Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to foster trust, improve value and expand insurance coverage across the nation.
The original deadline for submission of feedback on the Consultation Paper was 30th September, 2026.
In order to facilitate comprehensive participation, wider industry deliberations and detailed submissions from all stakeholder groups, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission of comments and suggestions to Saturday, 17th October, 2026.
Stakeholders and members of the public are requested to submit their comments and feedback, particularly on the user stories in Section 8 and the consultation questions in Section 15 of the Consultation Paper, using the prescribed excel template through either of the following modes:
