In his message to the participants, the Mr. Ajay Seth, Chairman, IRDAI observed that “The measure of success must not be the number of cases closed alone, but the fairness, quality and sustainability of the resolutions achieved. The objective of Grievance Resolution Month is not simply to reduce pendency numbers, but to reinforce policyholder confidence through demonstrable action and create a culture of addressing policyholder grievances proactively.” The event provided a platform for sensitizing the insurance industry and other stakeholders about the objectives and expected outcomes of the initiative. The initiative underscores the importance of not merely reducing the number of pending grievances, but ensuring meaningful, fair and sustainable resolution of grievances, thereby strengthening the trust and confidence of policyholders in the insurance sector.
Grievance Resolution Month will be observed throughout November 2026, with the active participation and collective commitment of insurers, insurance councils, Insurance Ombudsmen and other stakeholders.
