On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi planted a Sindoor
sapling at his residence in New Delhi. The plant was gifted to him by the brave mothers and sisters of Kutch,
Gujarat, who had displayed extraordinary courage and patriotism during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
Recalling his recent visit to Gujarat, the Prime Minister said the gift of the Sindoor plant will remain a strong
symbol of the bravery and inspiration of the women power of our country.
