The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, said that respect for nature, the environment and the entire
creation lies at the very core of our existence. He called upon everyone to participate, with a spirit of
gratitude and selfless service towards nature, in building a healthy, prosperous and strong nation.
The Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam-
“श ंनो ावापृथवी पूवहूतौ शमन्तरं दृशय ेनो अस्तु।
शं न ओषधीवननो भवन्तु शं नो रजसस्पतरस्तु जुः॥”
The Subhashitam conveys that May Dyuloka and the Earth, which have been revered since the beginning
of creation, always be auspicious for us. May the intermediate space between the Earth and the Sun be
beneficial and enlightening for our lives. May all medicinal herbs and forest plants provide us with health,
nourishment, and happiness. May the all-pervading and victorious Lord of all worlds ever grant us
welfare, peace, and prosperity.
