The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs held the Prize Distribution Function for the 35th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2024-25, for Kendriya Vidyalayas on August 29, 2025, at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building, New Delhi. Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, Member of Parliament Lok Sabha, served as Chief Guest and distributed prizes. Shri K.N. Srivastava, Director, India International Centre, attended as Guest of Honour. Dr. Satya Prakash, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, welcomed the attendees, and Ms. Chandana Mandal, Additional Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, also addressed the gathering.
The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Running Parliamentary Shield and National Trophy were awarded to Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC Srikona Silchar Region, East Zone, for their first-place national ranking. Zonal Winner Trophies were awarded to Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kathua Jammu Region North Zone; PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 AFS, Chakeri, Kanpur Lucknow Region Central Zone; Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mathura Cantt Agra Region West Zone; and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Sagar Jabalpur Region South Zone.

The Prize Distribution Function of the 35th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2024β25 for Kendriya
Vidyalayas was held today at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building, Parliament House
Complex, New Delhi.
Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), presided over the function as Chief Guest and
distributed prizes to Kendriya Vidyalayas and students for their meritorious performance.In her address, she congratulated children for their fine display of parliamentary procedures, stating that they
are not only the future of the country but also the future leaders.
She also administered the LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) Pledge to all attendees, inspiring them to adopt
healthy lifestyles to save the environment.
Shri K.N. Srivastava, Director, India International Centre, attended the function as Guest of Honour and in his
address emphasised that values learnt at an early age nurture leaders of the future.
Ms. Chandana Mandal, Additional Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, also addressed the
gathering and appreciated the Youth Parliament Competition for contributing to the holistic development of
children.
Earlier, Dr. Satya Prakash, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, welcomed the dignitaries
and participants, encouraging students to embrace and promote the practices of Parliamentary proceedings,
while emphasising the importance of youth in the realisation of our national goals and highlighting the role ofthe Youth Parliament programme in nurturing leadership and democratic values among students.
This year, the Competition was held among 175 Kendriya Vidyalayas across 25 regions, with regional
winners competing at the Zonal / National levels.
The βSardar Vallabhbhai Patel Running Parliamentary Shieldβ and the National Trophy for standing first at
the National Level in the 35th Competition was awarded to Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC Srikona (Silchar
Region, East Zone). On this occasion, the winning school presented a repeat performance of their Youth
Parliament sitting, which was highly appreciated by the gathering.
