## Policy Summary: Ethylene Dichloride Quality Control Amendment Order, 2025
This Order, issued by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, amends the Ethylene Dichloride Quality Control Order, 2021. (S.O. 4177(E), New Delhi, 16th September, 2025). This amendment, enacted under the authority of section 16 read with subsection 3 of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016), and after consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards, modifies the effective date of the original order. Specifically, subparagraph 2 of paragraph 1 in the 2021 Order is substituted to state that the Ethylene Dichloride Quality Control Order, 2021 will come into force on the 12th day of September, 2026. This order will be effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. The original Ethylene Dichloride Quality Control Order, 2021, was published under number S.O. 3928(E), dated the 13th September, 2021, and subsequently amended via notifications S.O. 1070(E) (March 10, 2022), S.O. 4137(E) (September 2, 2022), S.O. 1124(E) (March 9, 2023), S.O. 1108(E) (March 6, 2024), S.O. 3936(E) (September 13, 2024) and S.O. 1126(E) (March 11, 2025).

आदेि, 2021 का और संिोधन करन े के जलए जनम्नजलजखत आदिे करती ह,ै अथावत्:-
1. (1) इस आदेि का नाम एजथलीन डाईक्लोराइड (गुणर्त्ता जनयंत्रण) संिोधन आदिे , 2025 ह।ै
(2) यह रािपत्र में इसके प्रकािन की तारीख को प्रर्ृत्त होगा।

ORDER
New Delhi, the 16th September, 2025
S.O. 4177(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 read with sub-section (3) of section 25 of
the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016), the Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian
Standards, being of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do in the public interest, hereby makes the following
Order further to amend the Ethylene Dichloride (Quality Control) Order, 2021, namely:-
1. (1) This Order may be called the Ethylene Dichloride (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025.
(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2.In the Ethylene Dichloride (Quality Control) Order, 2021, in paragraph 1, for sub-paragraph (2), the following sub-
paragraph shall be substituted, namely: —
“(2) It shall come into force on the 12th day of September, 2026.”
