Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

**Policy Summary: Implementation of CIMS Reporting for Internet and Mobile Banking Returns** This policy, issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on September 5, 2025, mandates the submission of Internet Banking (Return Code R065) and Mobile Banking (Return Code R102) returns through the Centralised Information Management System (CIMS), the RBI's next-generation data warehouse. This directive applies to all Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs), including Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs), State Cooperative Banks (StCBs), District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), Payment Banks, and Small Finance Banks. Effective from the reporting period of August 2025 onwards, these returns must be submitted monthly via the CIMS portal (https://cims.rbi.org.in/login). The deadline for submission is the 7th of the succeeding month (e.g., the return for August 2025 is due by September 7, 2025). Admin users for each reporting entity have already been created in CIMS. These admin users are responsible for creating login credentials for users who will be submitting the returns. This instruction is issued under Section 12 read with Section 19 of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007. Non-compliance will be subject to penal action.
