F. No.6(7)/2014-15/DIP/Estt/10561.—In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to article 309 of the
Constitution of India, read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, notification No.F.27/59-HIM(i),
dated the 13th July, 1959, and in supersession of this Government’s notification No. F. 2(44)/81/-S.II dated the 8th
December, 1981 relating to the recruitment rules for the post of Senior Photographer except as respects things done or
omitted to be done before such supersession, the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, after
consultation with the Union Public Service Commission, is pleased to make the following rules for the post of
‘Senior Photographer’ in the Directorate of Information and Publicity, Government of National Capital Territory,
Delhi, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement:-(i) These rules may be called the Senior Photographer Recruitment Rules,
2022.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.
2. Number of posts, classification and pay level in Pay Matrix:-The number of said post, its classification
and level in the Pay Matrix shall be as specified in columns 2 to 4 of the Schedule attached with these rules.
3. Method of recruitment, age limit qualification, etc.:-The method of recruitment to the said post, age-limit,
qualification and other matters relating thereto, shall be as specified in columns 5 to 13 of the said Schedule.
4. Disqualifications:- No person,-
(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living, or
(b) who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,
shall be eligible for appointment to the said post:
Provided that the Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law
applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing,
exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
5. Power to relax:-Where the Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by
order, and for reasons to be recorded in writing and in consultation with Union Public Service Commission,
relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons.
6. Saving:-Nothing in these rules shall effect reservations, relaxation of age-limit and other concessions,
required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Ex-servicemen
or any other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Government from time

(B) possessing the following educational qualifications

Essential:
(I) Graduate from a recognised University.
(II) One year Diploma in Photography from
a recognized university/institute.
(III) Two years experience in Photography
in a News Agency or Newspaper of repute or
in a Government Department.

Note 1: The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in
the direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for
appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists shall not be
