Director General of Police, Intelligence, A.P., Hyd., Letter ID No.78/G1/2011, dated 23-02-2012 *** O R D E R: WHEREAS, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them under sub-section (2) of section-3 of the Andhra Pradesh Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Dacoits, Drug Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Land Grabbers Act, 1986 (Act No.1 of 1986),in the G.O. 1st read above, have last extended the period to exercise powers by all the Collectors and District Magistrates and the Commissioners of Police, Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3 of the said Act, if satisfied as provided therein, within the local limits of their jurisdictions, for a period of three months from 21-12-2011 to 20.03.2012. 2. In the reference 2nd read above, the Addl. Director General of Police, Intelligence, A.P., Hyderabad has requested that the period of delegation of powers of detention under sec 3(2) may be extended for a period of three months beyond 20-03-2012 under sub-section 1 of section 3 of the A.P. Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Dacoits, Drug Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Land Grabbers Act, 1986 (Act No.1 of 1986). 3. AND WHEREAS, the Government, having regard to the circumstances prevailing and are likely to prevail within the local limits of the jurisdiction of all the Collectors and District Magistrates and the Commissioners of Police in the State, are satisfied that it is necessary to extend such authorization beyond 20.03.2012. 4. Now, therefore, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them under sub-section (2) of section-3 of the said Act, hereby extend the period to exercise powers by all the Collectors and District Magistrates and the Commissioners of Police – Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, if satisfied, as provided in sub-section (1) of Section-3 of the said Act, within the local limits of their respective jurisdictions, for a further period of three months from 21.03.2012 to 20.06.2012.
