GOVERNMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH A B S T R A C T Agriculture Marketing Department – Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru (Hqrs) Kankipadu, Krishna District – Disqualification of the Chairman, Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru (Hqrs) Kankipadu, Krishna District – Notification – Orders – Issued. x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x- AGRICULTURE AND COOPERATION [AM.I] DEPARTMENT G.O.Rt.No. 280 Dated.16.3.2012 Read:- From the C&DoAM., Hyd., Lr.No.SI[2]105/2012, Dated.12.01.2012. *$* ORDER In the reference read above, the Commissioner and Director of Agricultural Marketing, Andhara Pradesh, Hyderabad has stated that subsequent to formation of Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru, the Chairman, Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru did not convene three (3) consecutive meetings over a period of three months, and also stated that sub-section (3) of section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh (Agricultural Produce & Live Stock) Markets Act, 1966 stipulates that “It shall be the duty of the Chairman to convene the meetings of the Market Committee in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) and where a Chairman of the Market Committee fails to convene three consecutive meetings of the market committee from the date of the commencement of office or the last meeting of the Committee, he shall cease to be the Chairman unless such cessation has otherwise occurred before that date and for a period of one year from such date he shall not be eligible to be appointed as Chairman. The Commissioner and Director of Agricultural Marketing, Andra Pradesh, Hyderabad has further stated that failure to conduct three meetings at the rate of one meeting every month over a period of three months brings into play the provision of disqualification against the Chairman under section 9(3) of the Act and requested to issue an order notifying that the Chairman of Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru ceases to be a Chairman. Government after careful examination of the proposal, have decided that the Chairman, Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru has become disqualified for the post of Chairman, Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru under section 9(3) of the Andhra Pradesh (Agricultural Produce and Livestock) Markets Act, 1966. Accordingly, the following notification will be issued in the next issue of the Andhra Pradesh Extraordinary Gazette: NOTIFICATION Whereas, Sri Kakarla Venkata Ratnam, s/o. Gangadhara Rao Chairman, Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru (Hqrs) Kankipadu, Krishna District has failed to convene meetings of the said Agricultural Market Committee as required under sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh (Agricultural Produce and Livestock) Markets Act, 1966. (2) And whereas, the said Sri Kakarla Venkata Ratnam, shall be ceased to be the Chairman of the Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru for not convening the three consecutive meetings of the said Agricultural Market Committee as required under sub-section (3) of section 9 of the said Act. (3) Now, therefore, under sub-section (3) of section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh (Agricultural Produce and Livestock) Markets Act, 1966, the Government hereby notify that Sri Kakarla Venkata Ratnam, s/o. Gangadhara Rao Chairman, Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru (Hqrs) Kankipadu, Krishna District is ceased to be the Chairman of the said Agricultural Market Committee, Penamaluru (Hqrs) Kankipadu, Krishna District due to failure to convene three (3) consecutive meetings of the said Agricultural Market Committee from the date of the last meeting of the Committee.
