ABSTRACT
Medical Education – Health, Medical & Family Welfare Department–
Enhancement of MBBS seats @ 50 each in ten (10) Government Medical Colleges
– Administrative sanction for an amount of Rs. 7963.09 lakhs towards extension
and renovation of existing facilities and construction of hostel blocks etc. to meet
the Medical Council of India requirement – Accorded – Orders - Issued.

ORDER:-
Based on the liberalized guidelines / Regulations and the amended
norms of the Central Government / Medical Council of India resulting in raising
the ceiling for MBBS seats, the Director of Medical Education vide references 1st
to 3rd read above, has submitted proposals for increasing the Number of MBBS
seats in respect of the following 10 Govt. Medical Colleges @ 50 each that would
go to help poor and meritorious students. After examination of the proposal, the
Government have approved the same and also issued Essentiality Certificates for
the 10 Government Medical Colleges.
2. In the reference 4th read above, the Director of Medical Education has
stated that at his request the Managing Director, A.P. State Medical Services
Infrastructure Development Corporation vide his letter dt. 26-9-2011 has
submitted proposals for construction of additional buildings and infrastructure as
per Medical Council of India norms for the enhanced 50 MBBS seats in each of
these ten Govt. Medical Colleges, from the academic year 2012-13. As per the
details of the line estimates furnished by the APHMHIDC, the estimated cost has
been worked out at Rs. 7963.09 lakhs with the following breakup:-

3. Based on the above proposals, the Director of Medical Education has
requested to issue necessary administrative sanction for an amount of
Rs. 7963.09 lakhs for extension and renovation of existing facilities and
construction of certain hostel blocks which are essential to meet the
requirement as per MCI norms for the enhanced 50 MBBS seats in each of the
ten Government Medical Colleges mentioned in para 2 above from the academic
year 2012-13.
4. The Government after careful examination of the matter hereby accord
administrative sanction for an amount of Rs. 7963.09 lakhs (Rupees Seventy
Nine crores sixty three lakhs and nine thousand only) towards extension and
renovation of existing facilities and construction of Hostel blocks etc., as are
essential to meet the requirement as per Medical Council of India norms for the
enhanced 50 MBBS seats each in ten Government Medical Colleges mentioned in
para 2 above from the academic year 2012-13.
5. The expenditure in this regard in 2011-12 shall be met from the balance
budget provision under the Head of Account 6210-80-800-GH(11)-SH(04)-
Construction of Medical Colleges- 001-Loans to APHMHIDC under Director of
Medical Eductaion. The balance expenditure shall be phased out to meet in the
ensuing two years viz., 2012-13 and 2013-14 under the relevant Heads of
Account.
6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide their
U.O.No. 11731/306/A1/Expr.M&H1/2011, dt. 22/12/2011.
