24.09.2026, in hybrid mode at CSOI, New Delhi. Addressing the shareholders, Chairman & Managing Director Dr. A.K. Panda presented the Company’s performance for FY 2025–26 and outlined its strategic priorities for the years ahead.

SAIL CMD, Dr. Panda noted that despite a challenging global steel environment marked by geopolitical uncertainties and market volatility, India continued to lead global steel demand growth, retaining its position as the world’s fastest growing major steel producer. He stated that, “SAIL demonstrated strong resilience and adaptability, achieving new benchmarks driven by technological upgrades, financial prudence, digitalisation, HR initiatives and sustainability efforts.” Dr. Panda emphasised that, “SAIL’s performance during the year was marked not only by best-ever crude steel, finished steel and saleable steel production, but also a strong focus towards value creation. The Company produced 10.7 Million Tonnes (MT) of value-added steel, which was 56% of total saleable steel, up by 7% over FY'24-25, and introduced 28 new products across infrastructure, automotive, energy and manufacturing sectors - significantly strengthening SAIL’s ability to meet evolving national and sectoral requirements. He added that this enhanced product capability directly reinforced SAIL’s nation-building role. In FY 2025–26, the Company dispatched the first consignment of indigenously developed Vande Bharat wheels and supplied steel for five Indian Navy ships - INS Arnala, Udaygiri, Himgiri, Androth and Anjadeep - commissioned during the year. Dr. Panda reiterated SAIL’s commitment to contributing to Viksit Bharat 2047, aligned with the National Steel Policy.

Highlighting the Company’s financial performance, Dr. Panda said, “Reflecting operational efficiency, in FY 2025–26 SAIL posted its highest ever revenue, surpassing ₹1,09,000 crore, an 8% increase over the previous year. Borrowings were reduced by more than ₹5,000 crore through judicious fund management.

With higher sales volume, lower inventory and reduced borrowings, the Company’s profitability strengthened, and both PBT & PAT improved by 44% and 50.5% respectively. The Board has recommended a Final Dividend of ₹2.35 per equity share.” Reinforcing the Company’s sustainability focus, CMD shared that SAIL generated 5.61 million units of green power from the first 4 MW floating solar plant at IISCO Steel Plant, with a 20 MW floating solar plant underway at Bhilai Steel Plant. Additionally, 278.5 MW of solar projects are under consideration across various plants. Looking ahead, Dr Panda stated that, “SAIL is focused on expanding crude steel capacity to ~35 MTPA by FY 2030–31, supported by green capacity creation, adoption of low-carbon technologies, digital enablement, enhanced customer engagement, increased share of value-added and special steels, and deeper integration with retail and MSME ecosystems.” **** AG(Release ID: 2314651) Visitor Counter : 92
