**Summary:**
Since 2022-23, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has disbursed ₹5,620 crore under its flagship food processing schemes, Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI), and the PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, to strengthen the rural economy and incentivize the establishment and expansion of food processing infrastructure. These pan-India, demand-driven schemes provide financial assistance to eligible applicants across the country.
Expenditure under these schemes is as follows (in ₹ Crores):

Project Execution Agencies (PEAs) including government PSUs, joint ventures, NGOs, cooperatives, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), private sector companies, partnership firms, proprietorship firms and individuals are eligible for grants under these MoFPI schemes. While the schemes are demand-driven, most approved projects are located in rural areas, supporting local farmers. The MoFPI conducts national and state-level awareness campaigns, including newspaper advertisements, radio jingles, exhibitions, millet fairs, buyer-seller meets, and district/block-level workshops, to promote scheme awareness and encourage participation.

In order to incentivize setting up/expansion of Food Processing infrastructure, Ministry of Food Processing
Industries (MoFPI) is implementing two Central Sector Schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA
Yojana (PMKSY) and Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI). Further,
a Centrally sponsored scheme namely PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME)
scheme is also being implemented by MoFPI.
These schemes are not region specific or state specific but demand driven and financial assistance
is provided to the eligible applicants and is implemented across the country. The total funds
released under these schemes since 2022-23 is as under-

meets, district and block level workshops etc. are conducted with the aim to enhance theawareness of general public and for their participation for availing benefits under the schemes of
MoFPI.
