Under the Government of India’s Skill India Mission (SIM) , the Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship (MSDE) delivers skill, re-skill and up-skill training through an extensive network of skill
development centres under various schemes, viz. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Jan
Sikhshan Sansthan (JSS), National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and Craftsman Training
Scheme (CTS) through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), to all the sections of the society across the
country.
Under PMKVY, short-term skill training, recognition of prior learning, and customised industry-led skilling
programmes are developed and conducted in collaboration with the Electronics Sector Skill Council and
leading industry partners. Electronics and Hardware Sector Job Roles since last 5 years under PMKVY is
placed at Annexure-I.
Courses are periodically updated with inputs from the industries to ensure alignment with industry
requirements and workforce demand. These courses are anchored in the National Skills Qualifications
Framework (NSQF) and operate under the regulatory oversight of NCVET.
Further, Directorate General of Training (DGT), under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship
(MSDE), has developed 169 NSQF-compliant trades, including 09 Courses in the sector ‘Electronics &
Hardware’ to cater the needs of industry in terms of skilled manpower across the country. This training is
provided through a network of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National Skill Training Institutes
(NSTIs) under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS). The courses developed in the last five years in the
Electronics & Hardware sector are placed at Annexure-II.
