Ministry of Tribal Affairs Successful Organisation of Jan Sunwayi at More Than 25,000 Adi Seva Kendras Across the Country – A Major Step Towards Participatory Tribal Governance Posted On: 13 NOV 2025 9:16PM by PIB Delhi As part of the ongoing Jan Jatiya Gaurav Varsh (JJGV) celebrations marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the Government of India successfully organised Jan Sunwayi across more than 25,000 Adi Seva Kendras (ASKs) on 13 November 2025. The nationwide exercise saw remarkable participation of tribal communities, government officials, and local representatives, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to inclusive and participatory governance. During the Jan Sunwayi, villagers gathered at their respective ASKs to voice concerns, submit grievances, and deliberate on Village Action Plans under DAJUA. Discussions focused on livelihood opportunities, land rights, housing, healthcare, education, and access to welfare schemes. Senior officers from multiple ministries, including the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Rural Development, Forest Department, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, were present to address issues raised by citizens and facilitate on-the-spot grievance redressal.Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, these national- level Jan Sunwayi exercises are strengthening grassroots democratic processes and ensuring that the voices of tribal communities are integrated into development planning and implementation. The officers reviewed ongoing projects, provided directions for follow-up action, and encouraged closer departmental convergence to accelerate development in tribal regions.Highlights of the Event Jan Sunwayi was organised at more than 50% of the 56,000 ASKs across the country. Thousands of villagers participated, engaging in structured dialogue on local challenges and developmental priorities. Communities discussed and finalised priority actions under Village Action Plans, underscoring community-driven solutions. Officers assured continuous monitoring and integration of community feedback into upcoming phases of DAJUA. The exercise enhanced inter-ministerial convergence in tribal development programmes.States across the country reported wide community participation. Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Maharshtra have conducted majority of JAN SUNWAI in all the Adi Sewa Kendras. Northeastern states, including Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura, also contributed actively along with Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Bihar, reflecting broad national ownership of the Jan Sunwai initiative.The Jan Sunwayi demonstrated the strength of grassroots democracy, ensuring that tribal voices are heard, respected, and acted upon through structured engagement platforms. ASKs, functioning as single-window facilitation centres, played a crucial role in hosting discussions and documenting outcomes for follow-up. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs affirmed that such participatory governance exercises will be conducted regularly to keep tribal communities at the centre of planning, implementation, and monitoring—driving the national vision of a “Viksit Bharat” through tribal-led development.
