**Overview and Objectives**
The Ministry of Textiles has been implementing the Integrated Processing Development Scheme (IPDS) since the 12th Five Year Plan (FYP). The primary goal of the initiative is to enhance the global competitiveness of the Indian textile industry by adopting environmentally friendly processing technologies and standards. The scheme specifically targets the mitigation of pollution in the textile sector by supporting the establishment of new Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs), the upgradation of existing CETPs in processing clusters, and the development of new processing parks.
**Current Implementation Status**
While active implementation of the scheme concluded in 2021, it continues to operate solely to meet committed liabilities for approved projects. These projects utilize advanced technologies, including:
* **Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD):** To eliminate liquid waste.
* **Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE):** To facilitate the recovery of treated water.
**Approved Projects and Financial Details**
As of March 2026, six major projects have been approved with a total project cost of ₹701.56 crore, of which ₹214.70 crore has been released as Government of India (GoI) grants.

In order to facilitate the Indian Textile Industry to become globally competitive using environmentally
friendly processing standards and technology, and to address the issues of pollution in the textile
processing sector, the Ministry has been implementing Integrated Processing Development Scheme since
12th FYP to support new Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP)/ upgradation of CETPs in existing
processing clusters as well as new processing parks. The scheme was under implementation till 2021;
after that the scheme has been continued to meet committed liabilities only.
The details of the projects approved under the scheme and their present status is as below:
