BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventy-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:— 1. (1) This Act may be called the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2021. Short title and commencement. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II— SEC. 1] Amendment 2. In the Central Universities Act, 2009 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in 25 of 2009. of section 3A. section 3A, for the words "State of Jammu and Kashmir", wherever they occur, the words "Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir" shall be substituted. Insertion of 3. In the principal Act, after section 3D, the following section shall be inserted, namely:— new section 3E. Establishment "3E. There shall be established a University, which shall be a body corporate, to of Sindhu be known as the Sindhu Central University, having its territorial jurisdiction extending Central to the whole of the Union territory of Ladakh, as specified in the First Schedule to this University.
