New Delhi, the 22nd October, 2018
Re-designation of ‘Telecom Commission’ as ‘Digital Communications Commission’
No. 2-14/2018-Policy-I.—The Government of India has approved the ‘National Digital Communications
Policy-2018’ with a vision to support India’s transition to a digitally empowered economy and society. To ensure
effective implementation and monitoring of the National Digital Communications Policy-2018, the Government has
decided to re-designate the ‘Telecom Commission’, established by the Government of India vide Resolution dated
11th April, 1989, as the ‘Digital Communications Commission’.
