NOTIFICATION
Whereas the draft of the Karnataka Education Department Services (Department
of Public Instruction) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2026 was published as
required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3 read with Section 8 of the
Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) dated:
21.01.2026 and 22.01.2026 in Part-IVA (No.90 & 95) of the Karnataka Gazette
Extraordinary inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected
thereby within fifteen days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.4
Whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 21.01.2026 and
22.01.2026.
And whereas the objections and suggestions received from the public have been
considered the Government.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section
3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act
14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules further to
amend the Karnataka Education Department Services (Department of Public
Instruction) (Recruitment) Rules, 1967, namely:-
RULES
1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka
Education Department Services (Department of Public Instruction) (Recruitment)
(Amendment) Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force from date of their final publication in the Official
Gazette.
2. Amendment of Schedule.- In the Karnataka Education Department Services
(Department of Public Instruction) (Recruitment) Rules, 1967, in the schedule, under
the heading ‘Class III NON GAZETTED posts,-
(1) in the entries relating to the “Primary School Teacher for class 1 to 5”, at
serial number 66, in column number (3), under the heading “3.Selection Criteria”, in
item (1),-
(a) in clause (a),-
(i) in sub-clause (i), for the figure “0.35”, the figure “0.70”, shall be
substituted.
(ii) in sub-clause (ii), for the figure “0.15”, the figure “0.20”, shall be
substituted.
(iii) in sub-clause (iii), for the figure “0.25”, the figure “0.08”, shall be
