Delhi, the 11th May, 2018
No. F. 15/A/RSB/2004(Part)/55.—The Lt. Governor, National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to amend
the Grant of Cash Awards to Gallantry Award Winners Rules, 2016 namely:
1. Short title and commencement
(i) These rules may be called the NATIONAL CAPITAL TERRITORY OF DELHI GRANT OF CASH AWARD
TO GALLANTRY AWARD WINNERS (AMENDMENT) RULES, 2018.
(iii) They shall be deemed to have come into force on 1st January 2008.
2 In the National Capital Territory of Delhi Grant of Cash Award to Gallantry Award winners rules, 2016 for
clause (i) of rule II, the following shall be substituted namely:-
“Civilian” means any person residing in Delhi and getting the Gallantry Awards or any person serving with any
of the active serving unit of Armed Forces in a civilian capacity and getting the Gallantry Awards and who is a
bonafide resident of the National Capital Territory of Delhi as per the address given by him at the time of his
enrolment in the Unit.
3. For clause (a) of rule V of the said rules, the following shall be substituted namely:-
“The Gallantry Award Winner should be a serving person/Ex-servicemen person or civilian serving in the active
unit of Armed Forces or any civilian resident of National Capital Territory of Delhi”.
4. For clause (a) of rule VI of the said rules, the following shall be substituted namely:-[PART IV DELHI GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY 3
“The application form will have to be duly filled by the applicants as per the Annexed format. However, for
Civilian Award Winners other than the civilians serving in active unit of armed forces, an application may be
submitted to the office of the Divisional Commissioner, National Capital Territory of Delhi along with copies of
citation of award, proof of resident of Delhi of the award winner, two passport size photographs of the applicant
and surviving members certificate”.
5. For rule (X) of the said rules, the following shall be substituted namely :-
“The application from Civilian Gallantry Award Winner duly completed in all respects, alongwith the
supporting documents shall be received in the office of the Divisional Commissioner, National Capital Territory
of Delhi and for others in the office of the RajyaSainik Board, Delhi. After scrutiny, these applications shall be
put up to the Managing Committee for sanction. A proper record/register shall be maintained in respect of each
case.”
6. For rule XI of the said rules, the following shall be substituted namely :-
“The amount so sanctioned by the Managing committee shall be paid to the claimant by cheque. All the cheques
shall either be sent by post or given in person to the claimant/awardee. All the cheques disbursed shall be
entered in a register which shall be maintained by the Rajya Sainik Board or the concerned District Magistrate
Office and periodically put up to the Managing Committee for inspection.”
